Review: From the look of the trailer, is Martin Scorsese's Island of the Damned more like a horror movie? This is a dangerous place where the rules of isolation under Nazi control. U.S. Marshall sent to a mental hospital to investigate a missing patient, but reveals much more. Demon? Ghost? Anything else? Will this be so frustrating because I think it is? I was skeptical about going to the theater, wondering if this trip can hold water. The film opens with Teddy Daniels and his new partner, Chuck, standing on the ferry. They talk about their purpose. What is suspected that there is no further development. We bang, smack right into the story not so much as to open the assembly. Everything we see is a pair of men who smoke cigarettes. Although this is something that begins as a significant development. As our hero we smoke, it is not the best lit smoking glorified beauty or as a complex and confident gangster. We see that it is tougher character with poor posture, one that does not sleep, someone with a deep past? They are greeted at the gate by the guards, whose relationships seem immediately suspect. Soon, we meet Dr. Crowley seemingly sophisticated and modern man, who manages protection. But soon he finds himself cooperated in the investigation. Inmates and staff are hiding something, but what? Everything here seems off. And evidence starts to appear, but not before our hero seems full of psychosis itself. You behave like all this madness is contagious. Daniels says the guards. Is that true? Soon, we begin to wonder, too, but not before he reveals the tip of the iceberg, and it's not only painfully intimate with his own past, but also a lot of conspiracy. The Nazis were concentration camps and aging Americans Island.Though, it does not stop there, without saying anything else to make history injustice? Kingsley in his best role in years. Just DiCaprio reaches new levels. Among others, Elias Koteas, Ted Levine, Michelle Williams, all play a small but wonderful role. Robert Richardson takes his whole world own. While Scorsese is a master film Id say his specialty was more character than history. This is a new balance of both. Its combination of noir and thriller. Its the only kind of horror movie and is comparable to a light, but it makes it look like its one trick pony. All this praise, they say it's not for everyone. The story is complicated. It takes a bit of attention. Sometimes it's a little dark and heavy. Sure, it all becomes a little less sense when you really think about it, but then again that's the movie. There are some points where the story gets lost in itself. Things get too complicated. At this point, you can begin to lose faith in their viscosity, but do not worry, because the story has you right where you put it.
