Review: Winning an Oscar for his first film, a dangerous situation for a writer to be, by flattery is a great expectation and with high expectations, an advertisement is almost always doomed to; failure. Such is the case with the body Jennifers, the script in the second year student Diablo (Juno) Cody, who is the union trouble comfortable concept, content and direction (Karyn Kusama) and converts it into a movie that I really wanted to like, but end could not. Implemented as a hip, self-aware horror film, it does not deliver far beyond the standard genre (he stands firmly in the tradition of Kevin Williamson, who gave us cry and faculty have more than ten years), and excerpts from the sincere emotions are cheated for sequences of horror Funny (indie band to sacrifice a virgin to make a contract with the devil, for example) and Codys whim artificial language. Oddities worked Juno, which tells the dramatic story of the village characters fully realized and sown moments slide humor. Jennifers body almost succeeds based on the strength in the center of the duo: kidding (Megan Fox) and his glasses, asshole BFF, needy (Amanda Seyfried) who are experiencing serious problems when Jennifer becomes a literal man-eater; connection between them is so sensitive and efficient as it saves almost movie when it enters the digital bloodshed and deceit. If the script can not find a balance between the Codys horror, humor and pathos, director Kusama directs the film even more unstable, resulting in a tone that remains outstanding until the end. Ultimately, Jennifers body has its share of visually finite time and great performances (especially Seyfrieds), but it has a much smaller proposal than obvious (and much higher) effects: Jacques turners (and Paul Schraders) Cat People and ginger snaps trilogy (which was metaphorical enormity of puberty and his own GIF clever dialogue box you much more exciting territory).
