Review: Dom Hemingway was trying to add something new to the legacy of the great gangster Comedy Guy Ritchie and Martin McDonagh, but it's trying too hard, and ultimately failed. Each scene is trying to be more unique and exciting than the previous one, but it is rarely funny. Dialogues want to be smart and be remembered, but in fact they are just over-the-top curses and insults by the characters. Dom Hemingway (played amazingly by Jude Law) is a hero, but not anti-hero: he is miserable person whos just getting drunk and high for most of the movie. They're waiting too long to add some dramatic depth to his character.It have a couple of funny moments, but the film was a little too forced to be naturally funny. If you want to watch a film with a similar mood, but done better, I would recommend you dirty word.
